“Ways to prevent and eliminate harassment through national education”



A regional seminar entitled “Ways to prevent and eliminate harassment through national education” was organized by the Dean of the Higher School of Natural Sciences and Humanities of Baishev University, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor B.S. Kulbayeva, and senior lecturer, Master of Psychology D.B. Bekzhanova.

Objectives:

1. Explain the concept of harassment and analyze its consequences.

2. Show ways to prevent harassment through the use of Kazakh national educational values.

3. Provide practical tools for students and psychologists.

To study the problem of harassment in modern society and to suggest ways to combat it through the prism of Kazakh national education and cultural traditions. To discuss the importance of forming healthy interpersonal relationships and treating each member of society with respect.

Social significance: a report on topical topics that contribute to the formation of a culture of respect and safety in society.

National traditions: to reveal the role of Kazakh national education in the formation of moral and ethical norms that help to resist violence and harassment.

Prevention: to discuss measures aimed at preventing harassment, including the upbringing and education of young people.

The basis for the development of this topic was the funding of the “Generations of Independence” grant of D.B. Bekzhanova, which was awarded by the Head of State in 2023, in the direction of science, and the delivery of scientific theoretical and practical work products to the target audience. In addition, the project is to find new ways to combat harassment through analysis with professionals. In particular, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor B.S. Kulbayeva, based on her research and work in the field of ethnopedagogy, showed ways to combat harassment and, speaking about the importance of national education for preventing harassment, found evidence for her views in the characteristics of the Kazakh personality. Professionals invited to the seminar presented topical issues on the following topics:

1. Zhubandykova Meruert Kunbolovna – Deputy Director of the Psychological Support Center “JAN AHUAL” of the Aktobe Regional Education Department provided information on the relevance and necessity of the seminar “Ways to prevent and eliminate harassment through national education”.

2. Yesengulova Meiramgul Nuralikyzy – Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor (Associate Professor) of the Department of General Pedagogy and Management in Education of the K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University analyzed the works of foreign scientists on “The Meaning and Types of Harassment and Its Consequences” and clearly demonstrated innovative approaches in them.

3. Bakytzhanova Shalkiya Auganbaykyzy, a member of the Mothers’ Council under the Aktobe Regional People’s Congress, spoke about “Kazakh National Education” and shared about the manifestation of Kazakh education in her experience, adhering to the principle of connection with life. In addition, she made the students think deeply, performing one of her theatrical performances.

4. Uspanova Dinara Konstantinovna – Professional mediator, notary She showed practical and legal preventive measures and types of protection in cases of harassment.

5. Sovetova Gulnur Burkitbaykyzy, methodologist of the psychological support center “JAN AHUAL” of the Aktobe regional education department, gave the students a sense of humor with her training on the topic “My wonderful world”.

The Associate Professor A.Zh. Miralieva Candidate of Psychological Sciences, was the seminar moderator. During the seminar, she shared her own psychological thoughts along with conducting.

We conclude that the seminar achieved its goal, which is evidenced by the feedback received from the students. The relevance of the topic is evidenced by the active expression of young people’s views and opinions on it.
