    Criteria-Based Assessment: From Results to Achievement

    As part of the 30th anniversary of Baishev University, on January 15, 2026, the Higher School of Natural Sciences and Humanities organized a regional seminar entitled “Criteria-Based Assessment: From Results to Achievement.”

    The seminar was conducted by Associate Professor (Docent), Professor in the field of Education, Aigul Kydyrbayevna Kaplieva. The event was attended by teachers from general education schools of the city of Aktobe (Secondary School No. 1, Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 55, Kazakh Secondary School No. 39, School No. 61, and Baishev School-Lyceum), as well as by the faculty members of Baishev University.

    The relevance of the seminar was determined by its focus on the implementation of the objectives outlined in the Addresses of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the “Fair Kazakhstan” concept, and it was recognized as a significant professional platform for experience exchange and professional development of educators.

    On December 18-20, 2025, a delegation from Baishev University took part in the international scientific and practical conference “Science and Education: Key Drivers in ensuring Sustainable Socio–economic development in the era of Global Change” at the TISBI University of Management, Kazan, Russian Federation.

    The delegation included: Akhan B., General Director of the Baishev Education Group Corporation, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor; Kurmankulova R.J., Assistant to the President of Baishev University, Candidate of Economics; Lygina O.I., Rector of Baishev University, Doctor of Philosophy PhD.

    Within the framework of the conference, a plenary session and discussion platforms were held in the following areas:

    1. “Humanities and education in ensuring the sustainable development of society”

    2. “Mechanisms for ensuring technological leadership and sustainable economic growth in the face of global challenges”

    3. “The legal foundations of sustainable development: the role of law in ensuring social justice and economic growth”

    4. “Integration of digital technologies into science and education: the path to sustainable development of society”

    5. “Project management in the implementation of sustainable development strategies”

    6. “Education of the 21st century: innovative approaches and technologies in secondary vocational education as a factor of sustainable development of the region”

    7. “Modern approaches to improving the system of physical culture and sports”

  • «Accelerated English Learning in Central Asia»

    «Accelerated English Learning in Central Asia»

    From 9-11 December, the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University held the international international conference titled «Accelerated English Learning in Central Asia» as part of the British Council’s international project «Strengthening Strategic Interventions to Sustain to Career Development of English Language Teachers in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan».

    The project was funded by the British Council through the University of Lincoln and was initiated and actively implemented by Professors Olanrewaju Olaye (Larry) and Alison Raby. The event was held jointly with the universities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan implementing the project – Lincoln University (Great Britain), L.N.Gumilyov ENU, Baishev University and Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni (Urgench, Uzbekistan) and Bishkek State University (Kyrgyzstan).

    The three-day program included an international conference, workshops, and networking sessions at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the A. Kunanbayev Gymnasium School No.87, which facilitated the development of professional connections and the exchange of experience among the participants.

    The Director of the British Council in Kazakhstan, Robert Taylor, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants and guests. The event was moderated by leading experts, including Dr.Larry, Dr. B.Kh. Kusanova, Professor, and Dr. Zh.A. Beisembayeva. The project’s target audience included university professors, school teachers, leading methodologists, doctoral students, and undergraduate and graduate students.

    Assistant Professor of the Higher School of Natural Sciences and Humanities in the field of training «6B017 Training of Teachers in Languages and Literature», «7M017 Training of Teachers in Languages and Literature», Master G.N. Turzhanova took an active part in the conference and presented a study on the topic «Teaching Grammatical Means of Communication in the Context of Multiculturalism and Multilingualism». Also, the teacher of the Baishev Lyceum School  Arailym Amangeldykyzy made a presentation at the conference.

    This conference was a significant event for developing the qualifications of English teachers and strengthening international scientific ties in the field of education.

    “Growth point: modern assessment in the work of the teacher”

    From November 28 to December 4, 2025, the Baishev University held a regular seminar “Modern methods for assessing educational results.” During the program, teachers of higher education immersed themselves in relevant approaches to formulating educational goals focused on the needs of students, and also developed tasks and clear descriptors for them.

    Particular attention was paid to the criterion assessment, its role in increasing the transparency and objectivity of the educational process. Participants studied the possibilities of digital tools that allow optimizing the assessment process, making it more flexible, visual and convenient for both the teacher and students.

    The seminar was held at a high professional level, and its participants noted the practical usefulness of the materials and ideas received. The acquired knowledge will become the basis for further improvement of the educational process and the development of modern educational practices at the Baishev University.
